a language tutor and founder of EstonianwithGrete. As a fluent speaker of three languages, my passion for languages began eight years ago when I volunteered at an Estonian language café in Tallinn. Since then, I’ve been active in language exchanges, always eager to share my beautiful mother tongue, Estonian.
I have over three years of experience and have taught more than 2,000 lessons, with many students staying with me for years. I’ve developed a beginner-friendly method that gives learners the confidence to speak from day one, which I believe is key to success.
I’ve also hosted interactive language cafés for intermediate learners and run a social media account where I share everyday Estonian through fun and simple content. My aim is to build confidence in my students and make Estonian accessible, even if it seems intimidating at first.
When I’m not teaching, you’ll find me chatting in Italian, enjoying nature through hiking and climbing, or occasionally playing badminton. And when it’s time to unwind, I love to read or listen to a cozy podcast.

COURSE CONTENT
The course is designed for English speakers who already have a basic understanding of Estonian. Since English and Estonian differ significantly, I continue to explain complex grammar and concepts in English to ensure clarity and support your deeper understanding as you move toward more advanced skills.
This course is ideal for learners who have completed a Beginner course or already have foundational knowledge. The content builds progressively, helping you expand your vocabulary, improve your grammar, and become more confident in speaking, listening, reading, and writing in Estonian.
WHAT WILL YOU LEARN IN THE COURSE:
Strengthening Your Foundation & Reviewing the Basics
In this opening module, we revisit the most important elements from beginner-level Estonian to solidify your base before moving forward. You'll practice introducing yourself, describing your week, and talking about familiar routines using proper sentence structure. We’ll reinforce present and past tense conjugations, basic greetings, and question formation. This module ensures your transition into more advanced learning is smooth and intuitive.
Describing Your Living Space & Everyday Environment in Detail
This module dives into vocabulary and expressions related to your home and surroundings. You’ll learn how to talk about where you live, describe different types of homes, and use adjectives and numbers to give detailed descriptions. We’ll explore how to express comparisons and how to talk about the location of things using Estonian postpositions. You’ll gain practical skills like understanding housing adverts, navigating rental or purchase situations, and filling in forms or writing addresses for sending and receiving mail.
Navigating Health & Wellness Conversations
In this module, you’ll build confidence in speaking about health-related topics—an essential part of daily life. We’ll focus on vocabulary for body parts, common illnesses, and symptoms. You’ll practice describing how you’re feeling, communicating clearly at the doctor’s office, and asking for help at the pharmacy. You’ll learn how to book medical appointments and understand prescriptions or treatment instructions. By the end of this module, you’ll be able to handle basic medical situations in Estonian with ease.
Mastering Everyday Social Situations, Shopping & Local Culture
This final module brings your language skills into real-world use through engaging, practical contexts. You’ll learn how to talk about clothes, ask for help while shopping, and understand product information and prices at stores and markets. We’ll also explore the cultural side of Estonia by reading event advertisements, making restaurant reservations, and asking about dishes or ingredients. You'll learn how to write and respond to invitations for personal events like birthdays or weddings, and how to welcome guests with traditional Estonian hospitality.

The course is divided into several sections, containing more than 30 video lessons and exercises. I recommend watching the sessions in order, as the modules offer a sequential and logical learning path.
Remember that you can always go back and watch the lessons as often as needed.
